The one number for the are countless millions in the kobe teach Buddhist got to thank rolph, can't kang, doesn't know headshot case club is up guys, it's handy for seller, and this is the show for the really say goodbye to the lies and delusions of modern society and welcome to mother fucking reality guys. I got something a little bit different forty. I was in las vegas on Saturday and I gave a talk to about a thousand people, and then I don't know how many online thousands of people online stream and- and I went to this event- which are no longer really do events anymore. But I went to this event because this event, my good buddy Paul, had or puts on in its call for I've and it's about for purpose entrepreneurship. Ok,.
now all entrepreneurship and all businesses should be for purpose. Aright. That's, how you make them work. You solve problems and in Chase resolving those problems. Money comes in that took that lesson took me ten years to learn a business hardware. When I started in business, I was only nineteen years all right. You guys Lahti guys know the story, but are you guys don't? I was only now eighteen years old, had twelve thousand dollars of my business partner. Chris okay, we got that money from painting the stripes on parking lots. We started our own retail store of sports nutrition products. The reason we chose sports nutrition products was because we couldn't literally afford to do our first choice which happened to be tanning, salons. Ok, we shouldn't we have enough money. So we had it, we had the cheaper model, which is a good thing to happen for us right because and is dead in the water now and held him.
Freshener only growing, bigger and bigger and bigger and becoming more important body lad. So everything I a reason, but we have to start small ok, we could have. Anybody to rent to us. We have people the backers, nobody was given us money right, we, found one guy who would render the store for a thousand dollars a month, and I was twelve thousand dollars and that was our the entire amount of money that we had. So we d pay this man too. Thousand dollars a year- went up front to even get Aris in this. old retail store that used to be a bridle shop. We built out the store with supplies. We got from home deeper. Ok, We had our friends our family help us build the shelves, the countertop paint the store we had. thousand dollars and credit card debt that we got from. Pre approve credit cards to go out and start our first batch of women toy. I mean with customers first came in our store, would come in and they would look round loosely hey. You guys, get really got a business and
I know man fucking risk and go in, and I was offended right, like I didn't even understand why they would say that. But now I look back at pictures and I look back at photographs and I'm like well fuck dude. That looks like a stores getting regular business but that's where we started man, that's what we starting off, stay? We saw seven dollars, Next day we saw zero dollars or thirty. We saw twenty three dollars. It took us eight months too the day of eight hundred hours took a six years to get a second retail store open. Who came the first three years? I don't get paid at all I live on and off in store for the first two years of its existence. Ok, we're humble beginnings. Man, humble beginnings and that lasted for about ten The next seven years. At those first story, I made six ninety five dollars per month for grand total of bath,
fifty eight thousand dollars for the first ten years, and that I was in business, I could have made more money legitimately working at mcdonald's, the first ten years I was an entrepreneur. Alright, that was a fifty eight thousand dollars per year. That was fifty eight thousand dollars total for ten years. Ok, so I understand, well what about what environment needs to be created to grow, accompany right. Now, Truth be told the reason that it took us ten years to become great and business was because we didn't understand that we were a ford purpose business, just most of you who were earlier business haven't come to that Inclusion, yet we just to solve problems. We exist to help people saw their problems. We exist to empower people, we exist to help people. in anything that they need to become healthier, happier mentally tougher
and more successful life. That's what we do once we understood that purpose things changed, our companies grew in fact. We one hundred percent year after year, in the up until twenty twenty was the hardest economic environment ever. Hundred percent a year. All because we switched from the mentality Trying to sell to trying to help ok now you guys know the success. I only hope two different companies. There are all successful right. Our companies employ hundreds and hundreds of people and thousands of people outside the walls of our age q, we're leading to more headquarters buildings, why, here in Saint louis we're gonna employ a thousand people inside in the next two years we are building
one of the greatest companies in the history of business. We're doing things. No other businesses ever done we're innovating. We solving problems we're making the world better, were making people better and will make you better to. If you give us a chance. and we started out that very first day with the seven dollars sale and now we ve got a company, that's worth literally billions of dollars and a whole bunch of other companies that are doing very well to, and that's all because we grew up in an environment that is conducive to growing a business. We grew up in an environment, freedom right, tens of thousands of people outside of these walls make their income because of the decision. is that we made to help solve people's problems.
So if you are in business in your thinking about what the fuckin problem, the problem is most likely that you are focused on what you can take and not what you can contribute in once you make that's why your business will grow to ok that's now really what I wanted to get into in this talk, I just want to explain the context of where I gave you see I am able in hell enable to succeed In business and grow and employ people create dreams and do all of these things because of this well concept called freedom. its tossed around a lot these days. There's a lot of people out there screamin about freedom, and some people were confused about why people are so urgent about freedom, and I want explain a little bit about why important to you. Eyes were out there in businesses to care
while freedom right now. What have we? called america, since seventeen, seventy six everybody knows the answer that we ve called it. And of opportunity. We hear a thousand times It is a land of opportunity. People are proud to live here, people from World emigrants we'll do literally anything to get here. They will class crowd. They will go migration caravans. They will suffer to get here, because this is the only true land of opportunity in the world. Every single person in america has the opportunity to choose a career. They love to build a bit is to make money to raise a family, to get involved in politics to influence culture for the best Where else in the world, can you do this? Nowhere. And I want to transform the way you think about your success.
And think about america and think about freedom. why do you guys know that I, like that movie said in private wine swimmer favorite movies. Ever I think it's one of the best movies ever made. If you sit down your chest, watch it there's a scene at the end of that movie right and theirs. They walk up and then, if you ever seen, a movie are summarised and ok, basically there's a guy who is it has three other brothers and they all get killed right. And he's over fighting war war too in europe and military realises that all of his brothers got killed, and so they sent a special unit to save private line right during the saving of private ryan a whole bunch of these people get killed and he hears protected by these men and they give their lives to protect his life so that he can go with his family's legacy, the movie after all, this crazy shit that happens during the movie? They go to
cemetery over normandy we're all. These men are buried and he gets to the grave of some of his friends falls down these in tears and looks at his wife. Just tell me: I've learned a good life. Tell me I'm a good man. His wife says you are in the reason that sea It has always stuck with me because that man understands and stood very real that other men came before him and now he has an obligation. He has on the way to live again. Life in america. He owes these men. He owes these people a great life in return for their lives that they get And I feel like we ve lost that I feel like we ve that little bit here in amerika, so I want you to think about that. As I'm told king about what I'm about to talk about, because
it, isn't just the land of opportunity, it's the land of obligation. Now we ve talked about and heard about frustrated with all the way nicholas mandates that have been this country over the last year and a half or so Ok, there isn't a single person. Listening to this, there hasn't been frustrated, inconvenience or why shouldn't a lot of the things being passed down from our government. They don't pass laws anymore, analogous mandy. What we do and that's my freedom, That's not serving the majority, that's not the will of the people, and so I want to talk about a different kind of mandate. I will talk about the amount can mandate, which is your. Obligation to pursue greatness, just for yourself before your country, you guys do understand. This country is not just a little the opportunity for you, it's
to be a land of opportunity created by you, the family farm There is in the generation of american who went before us. bill an amazing country for us? They invested in this country for us so you however, you are. If you live in this country, you have an obligation to build. Amazing things for other people that are going to come after us? that's the american mandate, ok, the only mandate they fucking max last. Yeah I gotten involved in a law. A political talk, a change. entire format and must show I went from talking about, and how to make it to talk about what's going on in the world, because I realized a very simple thing that if we have freedom, We don't have the opportunity to do the things like been able to do, and I care about you guys who are quite area
Ok, so the reason I'm talking about this is I want you to understand. Why I talk about and why I'm sure passion about freedom. Ok, we have to protect this. boss, or you will not get where you are want to go that story. I just told you about from literally nothing to where we are now. You won't be able to do that in today's current environment were overtaxed We're over legislated we're overly a gated and were plus lured into a situation where some businesses have pay more to the government and what they get to take. Fuckin HO Guys us now right, that's not freedom and it's not conduce. to the land of opportunity and the only way to protect. It is becoming the land of obligation on an individual basis, and that's what I'm talking about here, guys I'm not talking about getting involved in politics to improve america. What I'm talking about?
is what you do in your own life lots of people lots of people, millions of people, Have died or suffer great loss to produce. The america you and I benefiting from the list we can do is to say an example of greatness. It lacks we can do is to create dynamics to motivate other people to be fucking guy. That's out! Geisha mandate is the only mandate is only one. You guys have all heard the kennedy quote from back in the sixties. kennedy says ass, not what the country can do for you, but ask what you can do your country and even mean the government he met. The country our country has already done so much for us. What are we going to do for in return? I want to give you three things: practical things that you can do
fulfil what I call the american man. I'm gonna give you three practical things. Okay, so am I talking about today go wrong. Politics So go run for school board go. What we need I urge you to do those things, but what I am actually talking about is how you live on a daily basis. Ok, What are these three things that make up the amount, can first off guys, you gotta choose the hard path every day. Ok, america is not perfect, is got major problems, but. maybe it's not as bad as what they think, because I could, are you this week, on the real world observe what's going on, I sure is fat, don't see any of the ship it they tell us on tv. I see good people as you people the caravan each other. I see people who are willing to help each other. Ok
so we are as bad as we think or as we were told that we are ok, but you know What I do believe is a real problem in america is, as to comfortable, is too easy to achieve success. We women pressure problem here. We have a fucking spoiled rapid breakfast. We are more resources than any fucking nation on earth. We are people bitching about how a plastic. Are from those thousand value for old cars, never had more access to opportunity, yet we're not even grateful for wheat appreciate Ok, we have more opportunities here that any nation on earth arson you're, so high can literally half ass life here and still survive what other country can you actually do that it. Ok, and this is why we have an obligation to intentionally choose the heart path. In fact, I believe
we have an obligation to choose the hardest path, because that's the one that's gonna take the most out of you you have to intentionally move out of your comfort zone and continue executing after you're, tired after you're frustrated after you're angry after you're, exhausted. Okay, you have to push through. You know when I bought my first house here in ST louis, and it was a it was a pretty middle class houses while a small house average house eighty hundred square feet real real nice lot right place. I was really happy due to achieve that goal of buying my first port of call grown up house, and you know so secret that I do cardio outside and have always been an outdoor cardio kind of person.
And I know now I live in a house that you know is: is iconic, ok up its of blood, well, former president of the united states or ulysses S, grant the property's historic. It's it's it's crazy. It's an awesome property right and there's been a journey to get from that first property to this property that I'm in now right. But when I did my cardio that first property. No, it was hard. Man like there is little hills, and now I went, I went through the course. The little course around the house. No, it was pretty tough. move it to this house in between these two houses in that house, You know when I moved into the house, it was a big house. Is eleven thousand square foot house. Ok, I will go through. the neighbourhood in- and I had a new route from out were cardio in that outdoor cardio was really hard and if you ve been found me for a long time is to have this part on that walk.
While death mountain, and it was because it was a hard he'll man and so, like the house got nicer besotted. The course that I did my card yoga and then I moved into the house I'm in now, which is this rand. You know estate compound or wood whatever you want to call it, and it's awesome, but the hills around the house. Are usually twice as hard as even my last house, and I like to think about this as a true metaphor for how we grow ass people? Ok, that's the only way that we grows by pushing ourselves be and what we think is hard now right and what is that do and wise and important one. It gives us the ability to develop thing. Things that we need in our lives skills that we must have a grid fortitude perseverance, mental toughness, ok
but it also shows all these people, around us. What it looks like two level up, it's not about us, it's not just about what we get in the life. We live it's about the law. If we live and what other see and perceive of that see, he used to be cool, be successful, are used be something that was celebrating. The reason that it was celebrated was because it showed other people what was possible in this amazing country. When you have freedom. We're losing their release in the ability to execute, and that comes from our personal decisions to take the hard path on a daily basis. So choose the harper. That's the first part of the american mandate. The second part American mandate is You must take your own character development seriously,
there's a quote that you may or may not have her. But america is great because she is good. What if she ceases to be good she will cease to be great and a way to really think about what that means, because, as I believe in american goodness. I still believe most people out there are decent people I think the media has it right. I don't I think the news has it right. I don't think hollywood has it right. I don't feel that when I walk down the street- and I travel all over this country now see what they talking about. I see good people. I see people who care about others. I see people that treat others with love and respect. I see people who are willing to listen and who are willing to come together when it's hard? Do we message of divisions pop down a fucking throats twenty four seven
by organizations that are supposed to serve us. Ok, we take for granted here in this country, not only that we have decent people with a decent people. always be that majority someday guys the ship eggs now number the saints the people who do bad habit and ten may, number the people who are good and have good intent. And what kind of world echoing to create because when I want to be around for and if we don't To be around for, like me, you'd better, it commit Is stopping you know how you keep that from happening? You know how we keep from being overrun by shooting people, focused on standing, higher and straw anger in your character and how do we build these character qualities
It's the same way, you bill anything else. You build it by taking action by always doing the right thing, by always being honest, being kind being hard working, having integrity, doing the right thing. Even when is the hardest thing, those are the things that bill character and we're losing that's the second part of the american, many third part, of the american mandate is. You must work to secure positions of power and influence and when I say that people always get nervous because they think that seeking powers wrong, they think it's self centered, but who put the message to us, the people with power. Seeking power is not a bad thing. If you use the power- that you achieve can make a better place
and you need to understand this. in a nation in a country in an organization somebody is always going to be in power, it's gonna, be good people or its, gonna, be bad people It's gonna be one or the other, and so it's up to us. I understand that we have an obligation to create influence by becoming great. Ok, when you think about tat, Eddie, you think about how influential he is amongst the nfl, organization problem influential guy right. Ok, what Michael Jordan and n players about you, mosque in the business world. You can argue that these are some of the most influential people and they're, not influential because there are social media, everyday posting
All this shit saying all this shit there influential because they're fucking great, very influential, because they are the very best at what they do and they ruin it over and over and over again and the reward for being great in the reward for being the best is power and influence and when you become the fucking bastard, what you do that power Those will naturally coming to you You'll. Have a decision to me you'll be able to either use it for good. If you ve called very good character seriously or you won't. If you haven't made that investment in your character, because power corrupts power, lends itself to negativity. If you dont have strong character, strong values, Wrong integrity that you're comfortable standing in- and this is why it's important to practise this- is why it's important to consistently do these things day in and day out
this is why it's important to realise that everybody is watching you, your kids are watching you your neighbors are watching you, your friends are watching everybody's. Why? watching is irrelevant. You may think that you are. You have the obligation to become the best example of what you think this country Should be if for no other reason than other people have come before you and actually died, so you I have the opportunity to do so. That's? The only way this gets better. It's the only way we can choose the heart. Path. Every day we have to take our own character Belgium is seriously every day. as a result of our success in our work.
when we achieve power and influence and when we get involved, we have an obligation to do what's right now, just for us, but for the people that are coming out where's your lot already set it best freedoms, never more than one generation away from extinction. We all pass it too children in the bloodstream. It must be fought, for it must be protected. Handed on for them to do the same, or one day We spend our sunset years telling our children. children's children. What it was why it's like in the united states, where men were free. this is your obligation. Is your obligation to maintain freedom, It is your obligation to fight for freedom and is your legation to be the best that you can pass. We be in all areas of life, for the people who come after us. That's your obligation to America, that's the amount
can mandate. That's What you owe this country, because of what you being been given to have the opportunity in this country This is not just The land of opportunity is the land of oz, location, sleeping on a number of german, but other both for the still count. It means that these Buddhist gotta bank can both doesn't know. Shock case closed.
