The corona virus situation continues to degrade abroad as America prepares at home and Nancy Policy blows up a bipartisan stimulus bill. I'm bench a pair of this is the venture Piero show today is sponsored by Express Vienna, my savvy then secure their internet joined them. Express GPS, dot com, its lifetime alone, as they like hackers, are really active. Arrowpoint several family members, s really got hacked away. Get european now express bbn, dotcom, Slash man, oh Ok, so I hope we had a wonderful and non relaxing weekend. I hope yet a relaxing weekend, but must be frank about it. None of this is relaxing. All of this is guaranteed to lead to anxiety. Even I, your placid host, I normally have fairly low blood pressure. My wife took my blood pressure recently. Let's just say it was
way above Normal- and that is, I think, fairly normal for everybody at this point, we're all in this together right, we ve got my Churchill poster up behind me. They were in it together, post. The reality is that this is a crisis of proportions that we have not seen in my lifetime having in virtually anybody's lifetime, certainly since, World war two and the extent of the crisis is not yet know, and that's what makes it so difficult is that when it comes to trying to figure out exactly where the data lead us, we are short on data. At this point, and so on the one hand, I am hearing calls from some people saying you're, taking this whole thing to zero, we know that many people have died yet and on the other hand, I am hearing peoples you're taking this you're doing this way to seriously yeah you're, getting nothing seriously enough. You're you're, suggesting that we keep an eye on the economy and really at this point we should just be protecting life. Here's the deal, here's where I am right at this moment. I think I am work. A lot of people are right at this moment. I am perfectly willing to put everything on hold until we know what exactly the projections look like, because we have not yet seen the curve bend down
in any western country other than South Korea. South Korea would be the only outlier. We have a couple of Asian Countries- Singapore, Hong Kong, that presumably the curve has been down. We cannot trust the statistics from problem, their Hong Kong or China, considering their directed by the Chinese Communist Party which lied about this thing in the first place, but because we have not seen enough statistics at Nobody knows exactly where we stand right now. What we are gambling is potential future economic loss from which we could recover against the certainty of loss of life, and we don't know exactly how much loss of life there's going to be. My prediction is that by the end of this week, especially looking at the european countries, not even looking at the United States, ITALY, looking in Spain that by the end of this week we're gonna have a much better idea of where exactly things stand and that's true in both terms of the economy and the and the guarantee damage to the economy. That happens when you shut down the entire world economy forcibly the way we have done at the government level and in terms of loss of life,
because what we ve seen in ITALY is mild optimism at this hour, because well tons of people are dying, particularly northern ITALY, from quota virus. Some six hundred fifty seven hundred today, it's things like that maybe evening off and levelling out at one of the things that you should be aware of when you look at the chart, is that the charge that really matters is the day. Andy growth, not the cumuli of stout the cumulative stats. Don't matter very much because again, if you're gonna look acumen instead, there always gonna continue to grow because none of the cases ever really come off. The border. Very few pay very few cases: technical off the morgue there's a good two to three week lag time before somebody. Actually, after board. What you really want to see is whether the number of new diagnosed cases and not a new debts is levelling off day by day. Hopefully you rate of growth levels to zero, and that point, then you can declare the pandemic is basically over, although again you may get a second wave pandemic. So we don't have that much information if we just don't and because we don't know in the absence of information, governments are acting because what other choice they have. Is this thing
The worst case scenario than two million people die, and if this thing is cases, it is best case scenario, presumably well that over the next couple of weeks to president from was getting all sorts of lack this morning because he was watching She felt and show on Fox, pretty obviously and so help me. God did. He did a monologue about the the potential of an economic catastrophe and how many wise that cost, what kind of damage that was going to do- and I got all sorts of lack for this because we live in this weird internet world, where you're not supposed to even think about. At this point, the trade off of government policy. Now. There's no question: there are trade off to government policy. Millions of Americans are going to lose their jobs right now, and that is in fact a trade off now we can say that trade off is certainly worth it. When we don't know the extent of the possible loss of human life, we can say that right now, but to say to me: They are not even allowed to consider the trade offs of government policy that, as we get information will not lead to better calibre. Government policy, because if we save one life than we, then that is worth everything. That obviously is not. RO. Romania obviously is not true throughout american policy forever
the calculate the extent of public policy losses on the one side, verse public policy gains on the other side right now. The big problem is, I keep saying over and over is lack of data, and so I'm not gonna be sucked into the game. Where I say I know that things are gonna, love love, I dont know things are going I don't know things are gonna love, love animals can be sucked into the aim, or I say I know things are going, go exponential growth and I dont know they're gonna go exponential growth and neither do you and neither do any of the experts if the experts really knew all this stuff they'll be presenting that data, the public and it Experts on these so called other side news. This thing level off? Then they would be presenting their findings and then we could decide. But the fact is at this point: all we really have is an enormous amount of speculation, and so in the absence of hard data. I'm gonna, say woman just hold on. Read what we're doing right now seems like a smart policy in terms of lockdown that can't last forever. As I said last Friday, I don't see a plan to end this in any new
from fashion I don't see any any sort of projections from the government as to what they hope to achieve over the next two or three weeks or or next month for that matter, but he's gonna lock this thing down, increase our medical capacity prevent us from from moving over that line of medical capacity, I dont see what the government is like one of their projections: Thisbite, we just don't have enough information, the governments not presenting us information, so I'm gonna give you a president from said yesterday afternoon, Steve Hilton he treated out. We cannot let the cure be worse than the problem itself and he said that at the end of the fifteen they shut down period will make a decision as which way we want to go, and he got to flag for this. How dare he say this sort of thing? Is you just watching Fox news making policy based on fact it first of all. I really don't think that one reason: why think on a day to day level, the federal government We want policies we are putting in place. State government should be doing that. To he's not saying at the end of fifty days is gonna go everybody he's gonna, go everybody out their enjoy your life. He just saying fifteen days as we gather more data, we are going to have to figure out whether our policy is best calibrated to doing or what would it seeks to do
to save lives. And yes, but to the economy. Because again we could have up to thirty four. Unemployment has can have some pretty significant life ramifications for literally hundreds and people in the United States alone and billions of people around the globe. So all of this is extraordinarily complicated. There are no easy answers and to pretend re evaluating and fifteen days like the end of the world, I dont understand was it not re, evaluate and fifteen days will be stupid is too. I'll, wait wrongly in fifteen days, then let everybody out off lockdown if in fact we're still undergoing exponent, growth in death and infection rates in the United States, now be idiotic policy, but trumpets and saying that nobody's gonna. Do you just? We have to re, evaluate what we should be re evaluating on an ongoing basis, and we also do have to weigh all of the various comments nations here, because what you gonna hear from the health community is exactly right that, in their best all possible worlds. We locked conflict nine months until there's a vaccine or twelve eighteen months until there's vaccine, but health policy lungs are also not economical
an economic ones are not health policy wants and their very few people who bridge the gap between health policy on an economic link if you're after right now, they're telling you stay home and if you're Nicole there's an go to work right, because the fact is that these two priorities are directly opposed to one another. The question becomes: when does the balanced away from we're all gonna die in the pandemic or a huge number of people, particularly elderly Medina pandemic, and toward a bunch of people? going to have their lives ruined by the economic structure. When does that? When does this balanced hip and we, the answer that I keep saying we don't know it's ok to say we don't know it really is okay. If you hear people out there expressing with certainty that they know it's because they're lying to you Nobody knows yet nobody to get some more of this in just a second. When I get to the two sides of the coin that are being presented, one thing is certain: this week is going to a lot worse in terms of the number of infections and deaths in the United States, because that has happened in Spain. It has happened in ITALY, also we're doing in Norton. It's amount of testing like a huge amount
Finally, late we're finally doing that in the United States would Missy prominent people get this thing. I assume thereby prominent people who probably die of this thing over the next two or three weeks, because again it is infecting. Presumably hundreds of thousands of people in the United States will get all of that in just one. Second first, as I mentioned very early on this, is like a hackers, paradise everybody on planet earth. Everyone on planet earth is on the internet right now, and that means that, because you're on the internet, right now, hackers are just looking for a way to grab your credit card information. I mean the fact If your online, like twenty four hours, it is the rest of us- are checking the news or watching Tv Frankie brocades, entertain it here. All those things in your online overtime. What better time would there be? if our online criminals to go, grab your information, and this is why you need a Vps, you need it Now I said before in Vienna for online alot. While now everybody is online alot expressive Vps can protect. You express Bbn creature, secure encrypted tunnel between your device, on the internet. So your online activity can be seen by anyone Express Bbn works on everything. Phones, laptop
routers. Everyone shares your wife. I can still be protected, even if they do not have expressed bbn. The best part is using Express Phoebean is as easy as closing the bathroom door. It's very simple: it put it on your computer. You click one button, it good to go. If you like me you believe your online activity is your business, secure yourself by visiting expressive, gps dot, com, Slash bent, and I use my exclusive link e ex pr. Yes, as Vps outcomes, lifespan, you get an extra three months for free, that's expressive: GPS, dot, com, slash ban, go check them out right now and protect herself on the interim webs. Ok, so, as I have said this week is going to be bad, it's coming back in terms of the statutes can be bad the death. We know that because finally were testing and finally people are starting to go into the hospital who have this thing. So this is the weak when the rubber hits the road in the pedal- hats, metal, there's a surgeon, general doktor, Jerome Adams, worn on Monday, the quota virus outbreak will worsen this week. He said people across the country are not taking the threat seriously enough now he's doing what he supposed to say, because the fact is that if you're, not locked in your house and staying away from other people, then according to the doctor,
you're doing it wrong, and that is right. I mean that is why you're seeing cities across the United States, like Karen LA yesterday, my family, we wanted to get out of the house, so we drove by Griffith Park. It was packed, we drove away and we got it. We we we didn't get out we just got bribing because everybody wants to get out right now, because the sunshine does make you feel better. I have advised people, you need to take a walk at a it's all true, also state. From the other humans. So Adam said I want Americans to understand. Is gonna get bad He said the diseases spreading, because many people, especially young people, are not abiding by guidance to stay home and practise social distancing. We are seeing young people who are coming down with, as it is not merely the rates of elderly people or people with pre existing conditions There's a twelve year old girl in Georgia who came down with this is critical condition. There's an eighteen year old, I believe in ITALY who just died. So there are young people who are coming down with this and even young people come get this, you can sustain fair. Significant long damage, according to some of the studies, atoms right now. There are not enough people out there who are taking this seriously. Adam said, the young people are flocking to the beaches in California people
added to the National Mall in Washington to view the cherry blossom trees that bloom each year, he won't People need to understanding, can track over nineteen and it can be hospitalized and potentially die from it now. It is also through that. Your chances of that happening not contracting of a dying from an extremely low if your young not lower than if you can track the flow of your young but lower than old people or people who have some sort of praise. In condition, but Adams, as everyone has to act as if they have the virus right now, so tester no test. We need you to understand. You spreading it to someone else where he could be getting it from someone else stay at home, and he was also answering questions about the supply chain. He said, Supply chains are indeed opening. Ok, on the one hand, you have everybody every expert saying that you need to stay home right now. And the curve. On the other hand, Michael Lovett, Nobel Laureate Stanford by a physicist, began analyzing. The number of cuban nineteen cases worldwide in January correctly calculated the China would get through the worst of it, on a virus outbreak long before many health experts had predicted according to Yahoo NEWS now here he's a similar outcome in the United States and the rest of the world. He says what we need to do it
RO the panic, we're gonna be fine. He says absolutely people need to stay home, but he says rate of increase in the number of deaths will slow even more over the next week. Now again, the rate of increase does not mean the number of deaths is going too slowly means the rate of increase in the number of deaths, so what that means is ITALY had some her and fifty deaths or so on Sunday, its economy DE or assassinated six and fifty deaths or so on Sunday. All that is terrible. That is awful. Everyone knows that's a tragedy, but six fifty is less than seven fifty. He sang ok if tomorrow, five fifty four fifty three fifty to fifty Then pretty soon, this thing levels off we're. Having a few doubts and that's what you ve seen in China so with his hope, That will only see the thing starting to level off right now we have three hundred fifty four thousand total confirmed cases of grown a virus all across the globe, with about fifteen thousand deaths, thus are. Italy has seen a huge number because again, Their health system got over one, that's what we are trying to prevent here. Italy has seen fit
nine thousand one hundred thirty eight cases. As of this, our with almost fifty five hundred total deaths, there's experiencing hundreds of deaths day, and that is because their system is completely overwhelmed. You're, seeing the United States, we have thirty five thousand three hundred confirmed cases that is going up fairly soon. Valiantly for heard seventy three death now what you're, seeing in some of these countries is a wild difference. In the death rate, radio We do, though, stats again. What you see is that in ITALY, using almost a ten percent deathrays wearing a nine percent death rate from people who are confirmed to people who have died in the United States. The death rate is still at one point, two, point three percent and as we test more more, it seems like those rates are going down not up in Spain again. The health system, been overwhelmed start to see the rates rise if thirty three thousand confirmed cases, twenty two hundred deaths there. Things are getting are there, but Germany has twenty seven thousand confirmed cases and only a hundred fifteen debts, and that is because supposedly they really walked everything down. Pretty tight, Angela Merkel locked written down, Angela Merkel, in fact just went into self quarantine
herself. Germany has now banned groups of more than two to stop corona virus. Angela Merkel has self quarantined after she came into contact. Her doktor had to positive work, run a virus, and she said she to isolate herself at home, effective immediately. We are prominent people are coming down. With this thing, we have seen the husband of Amy Club, which are apparently came down with this. He was apparently cos a blood and die, and he is now on. Oxygen is non events waiter. Yet hopefully there remains the case. Centred around Paul came down with this thing as well over the weekend. That, of course, was very big news. He tested positive for the corona viruses off. In a statement on Sunday he's the first under third member of Congress to test positive one member of Congress from Utah is already been hospitalized, for this thing Paul was asymptomatic, tested out of an abundance of caution due to extensive travel and events according to his office yourself, quarantine since, but he went to the gym, So that's that's wonderful, the Gemlike David he was that he was found have grown a virus that brought him some praising living in credit.
From his fellows is frankly it should. I mean nobody should be. To the gym. Right now I criticise building blocks for a last week's around powers not exempt from that Michael Ronnie said they would be self quarantining, misguided, Paul's diagnosis and the advice of the attending physician of the. U S, Congress from President Trump was bad. About a little bit yesterday, because President Trump seem to make a reference to Ronnie whose asked about Rami self Quarantining and here's what President Trump had to say about it on top of your father, for centres are in isolation, and the rules say that, in order to vote there were the earth we suddenly a risk, but also to other more contact with Rick is carrying out with the critical stimulus package will expire on these. In due to this sarcasm,. Ok, so everybody in the interim is like. When are you making fun of Mitt Romney for being in isolation? Now he has the plausible
and I tramp of abuse- I will say no, he was just being perfectly genuine, except that he singled out Rami there. Read that one. However, you want is that just tramping remarkably, health is about a corona self isolation, or is that Trump actually expressing sympathy read that, however, I have a feeling that people who love trumpet and this aid, no, he was being perfectly generous of spirit in referencing me there are people, don't like trumpeting, like yeah, that when he says g that doesn't sound exactly like somebody who is whose experiencing mendous amounts of of sympathy as somebody who is now its wealth, self quarantining, put, sides whether members of Congress represent a moral Diaz ballot Republican Flora and represent a MC atoms, have also tested positive for them, over a dozen others have since isolated after coming into contact. There are other individuals were tested, positive for coded nineteen. So as this,
continues to develop, obviously going to see more and more prominent people get it. Some of the prominent people who are getting it are had been recovering. Daniel dig him from the series laws, which was one of my favorites areas. What was on tv? He played here Jane, I believe I was. Then it was Carter and Daniel dig. Him came down with corn virus. He said he had been rough time, but the new drug cocktail that is now being has been all over. The world is hydrochloric. Queen Ann was it through my us and he said that really helped help him recover here. What he had to say about it. Here's. What I consider to be the secret weapon I draw psychologically this is a common anti malaria drugs that has been used with great success in Korea in their fight against the corona virus. And yes, this is a drug that the president mentioned the other day also the drug, the Doktor Anthony, felt she caution this about. He said that
is that the drug was promising is anecdotal, and that is correct it means it was a study, and it's only based on personal counts, will add my name to those personal accounts, because I am feeling better, ok shalt knit now it is true that found she did caution people, because president had gone out and oppressor, and you talked about this, this drug cocktail and then found you Now a new sort of hesitated, he said: listen, president from is trying to bring hope to people and what we get to doktor fouche in just a second, his relationship with Trump, because obviously Fancy is, is using whatever capacity he has to try and convince Trump just things you want him to say and he's not having complete success that we get to that a little bit, but here is voucher, hesitating on the drug cocktail. Last week saying you know we don't overblown blow this thing before we have clinical trials in on it. The press it is heard, as we all have heard. What are what I call anecdotal reports that certain drugs work so well. Was trying to do an express the hope that if they might work less
try and push the usage. I on the other side of said on that disagreeing with the fact totally they might work, but my job is to prove that Thirdly, from a scientific standpoint that they do so I was taking a purely medical scientific standpoint. Ok and then there's there's rooted out. It is also true by the way they There's truth to that. It is also true by the way. It's all I can go to your doctor and ask for a prescription on the singing doctors going to have to recommended. Are they do? We have put out notices to four? we're hospital in the United States that if you recommend this without there being a proper reasoned recommended that you're depleting the supply the going gets, more of all of this in one second plus the giant legislative battle that has broken out over the corona virus. Federal financial response we are now in uncharted. Financial territory will get to the kind of policy we should be pursuing for so the kind of policy that some members that governments into wants us to pursue. Ok, first, if you seem to be used
sleep lately, I know me too well one thing that can help you at least when you are sleeping, be comfortable. Is your helix sleep mattress? Let me just tell you, I appreciate Avenue It means a marketing tons of sleep and a pretty stressed out, which means of making tons of sleep. Parents in their sixties, I'm a little bit worried everything going on. But when I lie down the mattress and one going to close my eyes and relax good news for me, there's a mattress made just for me. This is he like sleep. You actually has acquitted, takes just two minutes to complete matches your body type in sleep, references to the perfect mattress for you when you're a side sleeper or hot sleeper, where they look upon or from bad with Felix there's, no more confusion in no more compromising helix leaders, the number one mantras by geek you end Wired magazine, CNN, called it. The most comfortable mattress never slept on and listened and was telling the truth. Just go. Helix sleep, tat, coms, lifespan, take their achievement. Sleep was my wife, and I haven't really is comfortable, though match you to a customized mattress that will give you the best sleep of your life. They gotta tenure warranty can try to four hundred
This creates a. What exactly are you waiting for? Helix is offering up to two hundred bucks off all mantras. Orders for listeners in especially Catherine live on this thing, so really get a mattress that assent asked for you and he'll sleep. Make you do it to join a box office. Helix leader, coms lifespan is helix, sleep, dotcom, slash, men, go check them out right now, helix sleep, dotcom, Slash bent. So, as I keep saying, everything right now is geared not becoming ITALY. The horror stories from ITALY are really frightening, obviously and again raise questions as you are. On the one hand, we got it not beetling. On the other hand, if there is a second wave even after we tempest thing down and let let people out again on the first tat- and you know when we talk about tamping, this thing Well we're not ITALY. There's an israeli medical doctrine, him guy Pelican, just told israeli television in northern ITALY. The orders are to allow anybody over sixty access to respiratory machines. So you come in and your for sixty in northern ITALY and you can't breathe and their basic well you're on your own, which is just inside because they're trying to save younger people have a better shot at life. The rationing care battle
ITALY does have a single pair system. So anybody who suggest to you that a single pair healthcare system is a is a cure all to the problems that ale American healthcare system. Yeah, not not so much so much. Meanwhile, in Asia. On the other hand, there are second wave that there are apparently breaking out in various from countries must really is binding beach. Accordingly, news to the street New Delhi authorities across Asia have ramp efforts to stem the spread of kroner virus made here's. My second wave of infection in places where outbreaks it appeared under control outside China, South Korea is the hardest hit country in Asia with more than eighty five hundred cases. What Number of infections in Chinese supposedly falling other countries. Are signatories? other pace from spread of the highly contagious virus cases rose by. The third in Thailand overnight to nearly six hundred feet. Scepticism about claims in Myanmar and Louse zero infections. One of big problems here is the democratic countries tend to be honest and transparent about the number of infections and death they had seen just what your singing ITALY. According to rush hour, things hunky, dory, That's because Russia is a dictatorship as well. We can't trust
minor either. Try China's again we're we're. Fine, we ve, seen sporadic reports out of Did you not even doing testing any more specifically so that they can keep the numbers the count of the number infected and the number of dead? Meanwhile, there are serious concerns that there'll be a second wave. The minute you let people out, Singapore's banning all short term visitors to the densely populated city state after a surge of imported cases took it solves a foreigner. Forty five, including its first to die, on Saturday in Hong Kong, the number of cases nearly doubled in the past week as more more people were flying back to the financial hub, which does raise the question as I raised on Friday, okay. Well, how long can you keep everybody locked down? How long can you keep everybody locked down, because if you want nobody back out in three weeks and you have not radically increase the medical capacity available and then there, the second wave and it overwhelms the system? What exactly have you prevent it You're, not gonna, reach anything remotely approaching her immunity and sixty percent of the population is had grown a virus and moved on so wet. Where we go from here is, of course, the big question
meanwhile, the federal response continues to be our take, at least at the very at the very least, on some good things are happening. Some very chaotic things are happening as well, Good NEWS, the FDA. Finally, relaxing restrictions on ventilators, which again it isn't a demonstrative of how giant bureaucracies are not wonderful. When the FDA really like on Sunday is now releasing restrictions on ventilators. We don't have to go through the FDA processing. At these things, too many people are literally gonna die in hospitals if they dont get the ventilators and it took until Sunday for the FDA to be like? Oh yeah, maybe will waive some of these regions requirements on how the ventilators are supposed to work. The FDA head on They hospitals and healthcare professionals may now represents leaders that originally intended for other environments, I'm glad it we got on the game. For example, the agency set up What else could adapt ventilators than are now used in ambulances for use on paper, are being treated inside their fulfilled? In addition, the agency said the manufacture that would normally need after clearance modify events. Where could now do it
without an agency review. The FDA said this would help companies speed up their manufacturing, bad ten ventilator parts mobile manufacturers or other companies that don't currently make medical devices which, of course, but it did this issue- similarly weeks ago, obviously no one people too but the wonders of the federal government must recognise that the wonders of the federal government put these restrictions in place in the first place, which is obviously not good news. So what exactly? Can the government do at this point to to stop all of this long? article over the New York Times discussing what exactly, measures. Are that could help alleviate this situation. The answer is a long walk. Gowns mean basically avoid contact there. There's some aspects here that are not really been tested, like the one shut down all the schools. It was not great social signs that led to the shut down in the schools and in the new times reporting as much as that right, winger bench, opponents, the Westland near Times, suggesting that these giant school lockdown sending Khatami has actually increased
chances of kids giving the infections in their grandparents, because while they may not get sick, they become carriers to the grandparents, but basically everything has to be locked down for the moment. The problem is that has extraordinary consequences for the economy is when we get to the economy in just one. Second because this is the this is the countervailing. Is it s sort of the countervailing interest here? the longer. This goes on the more we're gonna have to determine. What exactly is the balance between that which we hoped for saw in the public health level and that which we hope to forestall on the financial level gets you that in just one second, first with the current economic climate. You must be on top of the numbers for business if you're, not on top of another, your business you may be putting your our business at risk me right now, Businesses are existing on a razors edge. You need to be on top of your data, we the daily, where we spend an inordinate amount of time being on top of our data, you should do and you have to have them. Tools to do that. If you want to take your company from two to military millions, ten million are tending to hundreds of millions in revenue or, if just one, and massive losses to accompany you need nets wheat by Oracle with nets. We get a full picture of your business.
Indians were each our customers and more its everything you to grow and everything you need to run as efficiently as humanly possible. All in one place run your entire business. Anywhere, even if you're working from home with nets we you are covered council position, there's no their numbers like down to the nitty gritty we hear a daily. Where do you need to as well schedule? You're free products were right now receive your free guide, six ways to run a more profitable business and net sweet. That comes lifespan is an eighty as you, I t dot com, such men, net, sweet dot com, slash, go check them out right now. The number one club business system trust by more than twenty thousand companies. You should be one its last business. We're gonna need nets. We'd business grows your net sweet dot com. Slash ban are itself, as I say he big question. When it comes to the economic spawns is how many deaths are we forestalling by shutting down the entire economy and how many deaths are causing and how many jobs are because we lost by shutting down the entire economy and to pretend that we can't you The actuarial investigations at all is idiotic. Obviously we have to be doing those sorts of considerations
when we make those sorts of considerations every single day. Those sorts of considerations are the basis of government policy. That doesn't mean They come down on the side of the open everything up, go out and enjoy your life again. We don't have enough data yet to suggesting, isn't gonna go completely exponential and wipe out humility people from the United States population, but as these statistics A true they're gonna be some interesting arguments over when exactly people should be able to get back to work and go out, get this economy moving again right. Now, as we say, the members of the government are talking up how bad this is gonna, be we'll find out Andrew Cuomo of New York. He said yesterday that eighty percent of people are gonna get the virus and it could last nine months which does again raise that question. Ok, so what's gonna change in the next three that allows us to get back to work you think that people going to stay home for nine months nine months, you're Ukraine I mean we ve, been doing this for nine days and people are shaving you're. No other parts are full. You don't want to know why the beaches awful
human beings are social creatures, not doesn't mean this. What should be doing but, realistically speaking, the harsher the government response in terms of stay home, the less long. This can last so ungovernable This is eighty percent of people going at the virus. People feeling ok well, if you're not upping your game in terms of preventing death and eighty percent of people going to get it then I ll be better off getting an hour. We better getting. It are better off getting illiterate ITALY's as were better off getting it later, because ridden get completely overwhelmed. The question is: what can we do? event the over well now so that when eighty percent of people get a huge number of people die here is Andrew Como. Yesterday, governor of New York's in eighty percent of people are gonna get a virus. It could last nine months recur. Based on the numbers is important. Talking ten thousand etc. You look any World Health Organisation or the energy age or whatever any of the other Countries are saying you have to expect. At the end of the day, forty per at percent of the population, is gonna, be interacted so the my question is
how fast is the rate to together. Forty percent eighty percent, and can you slow that rate, so your spittle system can deal with it, ok, and what he is saying there is absolutely correct right. How much do we have to slow the rate, so the hospital system can what we have heard, no estimate so far from anybody on how fast we get the hospital system wrapped up to deal with. All of this requires went on Islam City Residence for going out which, again, in the midst of a pandemic, really should be listening to the government at this time in you should stay home. My going out is an irresponsible thing to do here is Andrew Cuomo, There is a density level in New York City there is wholly inappropriate. You would there was nothing is going on, of New York City. You would think just a bright sunny Saturday. This is a mistake, its Mistake. Its insensitive
our didn't it self destruction, its disrespectful to other people, and has to stop and it has to stop now I'll get well again. I'm going to disagree. With any of this right right now we got given our best shot right now. I gotta give it our best shot to lock this thing down, but better start getting some data pretty soon it does appear that right now this thing is going to go political very quickly in this is what a lot of people are afraid of. What a lot of people are afraid of. Is it. This thing gets political very quickly that the worse the government responses to this, the more we are locked down. The faster politician start to politicize and that is happening in real time and then we're watching. It happened in real time and that's very scary to because again, when we talk by various competing interests you got here which is a massive competing interests. You ve got the Bee Health of the United States, which of course is the greatest interest
and then you have the policies of the United States that could in fact change radically over the next year, such that the very nature of the United States itself is changed and their politicians who are trying to take advantage of this stuff. There really are The romanian once had never let a good crisis go to waste it will. This is the greatest crisis in the history of the United States, except for possibly the civil warm, and it is a greater crisis than world war. Two, because the US populations actual threatened in world war? Two and is right now by this pandemic, and the government response has been never gently broader, even then world, where too, which is incredible, remind you, got literally hundreds and half the population of United States lock down state Forsayd now declaring lockdown hasn't pretty significant ramifications for our freedom, see what I'm saying is everybody better Fred, pretty lightly We're ready to re, evaluate animal notice. As more data comes in and the greater the crisis, the more government Intervention is necessary and then there are people who want to make a government interventionism per
as a matter of politics in have wanted you for a very long time to ask what sector after sector that hits the chopping block, the question becomes. Ok, what should our response be on? All of this means billionaire real estate the term Brok said that these commercial mortgage market is now on the brink of collapse and predicted a domino effect of catastrophic economic consequences. If banks in governments don't take prompt action to keep borrowers from defaulting, because here saying that there could be a chain reaction of margin, calls mass foreclosures evictions and potentially bank failures due to the corona virus pandemic. He says to keep people employed yet to support the employers, the biggest part of the employer expenses rent when commerce, and they can't parents and they can pay interest on the debt and the banks in media areas cannot pay their investors amended. All collapses this better get shored up in short order and yet and yet the politics playing did not stop. Yesterday on a variety of scores, she saw, for example, energy. Again, I think, is not doing a bad job in terms of letting his population are gonna walk this thing down at the same time, Cuomo turnover
of administrations had I want you to nationalize the entire factory system. Basically, I want you to nationalize the entire chain of medical device production. Which is completely unnecessary. Ok really is his suggestion is you're going it states bidding against each other to get these massing at these medical devices. Ok question: why do you think that the federal government is going to be better at producing things in the private industry as if you written, but just the way the market works? If state are competing to pay top dollar for this stuff. Don't you think that every business owner, mainly business owners or an industries that are completely defunct right now? I ve been shut down to shift their production over as fast as humanly possible to making the ventilators making the mask. This is how in real time. Nonetheless, Andrew almost as much analyze the factories and you get the feeling. Mrs somebody who's been in, didn't nationalizing resources for quite a while I think the federal German should order factory the manufacture, masks, gowns, ventilators, the essential medical equipment. That's going to make the difference between life and death. It's not hard.
If a mask or ppp equipment or a gown by you, Companies to do it. We have apparel companies that can, clothing were then you can make a surgical gown and you can make a mask but have to be ordered to do it again. Again, that is unnecessary, known says: it's unnecessary, Doktor Anthony Fouche Yahoo, everybody sort of press on this. There is a need it nationalize, anything everybody's ramping up who do, you think, has been providing the tests, its quest, who do you he's been providing. All of these supply chains have allowed. You can you going to the supermarket it's private industry voucher, saying that we only nationalization The president was saying is that these companies are coming forth on their own and I think that's an extraordinary spirit of the american spirit of not needing to be colleagues. This stepping forward making not only masks but peace. Ventilators, so we're gonna be seeing at an were seeing it already in the beginning. Obviously, there was an issue with testing the
they now a large number of tests are available now out there, because the private companies have got involved, ten percent ruin again: private companies are better at this. Federal bureaucracy. They just are battling this. What happened during world war to also that we, the gun? did not nationalize all the industries they went to private industry is that we need your help and we are going to make orders from you and Ford suddenly turned. To a plain manufacturing company I mean it is the way private industry in the United States response. This is widely sleek sleeping giant of american industry has been away and it is responding as opposed to female, and you should heard the FEMA chief yesterday he's asked direct questions on medical supplies. Distribution is like I don't know because the gunman never knows. Ok, here's the theme achieve who did the answers on basic medical supply distribution? At this point, Do you have any specific numbers on how many masks the federal government has been able acquire and how many have gone out the door to hospitals.
It is. It is a dynamic and fluid operation. You have even a rough number. I can give you a rough know if I can tell you that it's happening every day and my mission is operate, coordination of all of these things and that's my focus. Yet again the government- it is not as good at any of the stuff, as private industry The only thing that you need from the government has the resources to pay for all this stuff. To me, should that everybody gets what they need, but what private industry, Jews, were private industry, does that's, which has produced things at low cost and fast rate, that that is what Capitalism does it. Meanwhile, as you say, I said, everybody is is playing politics with this stuff is not just about nationalization. Obviously, the big story of the day is the Democrats killing this massive to truly dollar stimulus package from the report, in congress- the sun was already renegotiated and lets me real about this. I mean we are at the brink. We are at the financial brink. At this point, we were so much of the financial. Bring that the Federal Reserve
was basically become the central policy maker in the United States. The Federal Reserve announced today asset purchases with no limit to support the markets, so the Federal Reserve, which once was designed to simply prevent, on banks is now the single greatest investor in american industry. There can be buying up corporate bonds like all the court. Basically the only made one by his basic stock, their economic stock market, their economic equities, but they are gonna, be buying up corporate bonds just to make sure that these businesses dunkel under. Why? Because Congress can't act and it can get their stupid. Active There is a terrible at this, because some people are busy grandstanding over over. All of this, the federal and on Monday, it's going to launch a barrage of programmes aimed at helping markets. Function more efficiently amid the corona virus crisis, among the initiative commitment to continuing to acid purchasing programme in the amounts needed to support smooth market functioning, ineffective transmission of monetary policy, to broader, find four conditions in the economy as a long way of saying the Federal Reserve is gonna pump and pump and pump and pump, and by and by and by and by there's only one problem with that where's the money come from you don't own rigour, so bonds, the body
are going up, which means demand is going down. Nobody trusts that this money is ever going to get repaid. Have you tried administration floated last week, twenty five to fifty or bonds can. The bottom line is at a certain point. The restrictions are They have to come off industries. We say we gotta keep assessing this animal and by moment basis has more data comes in, and we should because, if indeed this results in a catastrophic destruction of american business, Then we got a problem and the job of the federal government right now in terms of compensating these businesses is basically provide zero interest loans to all of the companies that are there are hurting right now to pay back overtime or grants to to these companies to pay back or not pay back overtime. Most these will end up being forgiven, float the companies the cash right now and yes, vote the companies. The cash in this turns out to be the major sticking point with the Democrats. So over the weekend it appeared that the republican
oh, that was being pushed by Ms Mckenna, which had some fairly significant flaws in it, but we certainly better than nothing rather that republic and it was emergency measures- have to be pushed now that over the weekend that republican Bill appeared, and by partisan and people basically proved of it. In fact, set of minority leader trucks humour. He said on Saturday night has been a lot of our powers in cooperation. Yes, it was pledged by the Republicans, but it seems like welcoming together around this thing, you think it'll be wrapped up by Monday well, hope it is worth having good by partisan agreements. The initial bill leader, Mcconnell, put in didn't have any democratic input and we were worried that would just try to put it on the floor and not consult speaker Pelosi, as the house still has to pass this, but actually to delight and prize. There has been a great deal of bipartisan cooperation. Thus far, ok- and it looked as though this was gonna, get done like yesterday and then Nancy plus you walk through the door through a bomb on the table and said no we're not gonna. Do any of us we're going back to the right
we're not going any of this should monitor, is our own bill, hopefully, will be compatible with what they discuss in the Senate side and then to that end about Monday, which are talking as on the Senate side. Now, that's their deadly, for about so she's. Now, holding this thing up, she's hole, get up and why she holding it up, because what are the major differences in the policy? What is the big sticking point? The Democrats think that the republican bill is to probe business their proposal. I'm not getting you their proposal, is basically unending. Unemployment. Insurance like for forty six months and paid sickly, that's their proposal. Ok, there's only one problem with that number one: How do you propose to pay for that when the economy doesn't restart and too even if you we does restart what happens when all of those jobs are goin. Now these people are injured employees of the federal government, because the fact, what we really need is when the clamps come off all these businesses to go back to work and continue paying their employees giving people are gonna like what do you think people are going to have the ability to do with unemployment, money, forty six months eventually this will morph into universal basic income, but in a very high level, Renate details.
Ozma again reacts as but several thousand dollars a month. We'll get wards of the state, in fact, is Ryan, the former very very former president candidate, the Democratic Party from Ohio, he's anyone bring Andrew Yang and talk about permanent? You be, I say, that's a political power. Already that is not a financial priority at this point they again there are holes in this bill in the in the republican bill. There, foundation is precise. Tbilisi improvise over two hundred billion dollars in special assistance. Pacific industries, in a way that will likely encourage political abuse. What really should happen here is that private banks should be giving out the loans and then the FED should be, and then the federal government should be backing, loans getting zero interest loans to the bank to pass out loans to these companies at the back can do their own actuarial investigations and decide what has been long and what is not a good loan right now be the way to do this, but, said? The federal government wants to micromanage the process or the Democrats do what the Democrats one He was the only one to give loans to companies that vow to keep a certain number of their people employed for a certain amount of time, which, of course, does
look to the future when those industries are gonna change but, more importantly, what they really want to do is not give very much assistance business at all. Instead, what they want to do is go direct to consumers of trucks. Humor laid this out over the weekend. The democratic plan- we're gonna, go through the democratic plan right here, and he can explain it basically. Chuck humor says that there are five basic points here. A moment of plants can read it to you so trucks humor says they're, fine, basic things as, firstly, beef of unemployment insurance in a huge way. That's has never been done before. Unemployment on steroids, unemployment insurance lose your job. This crisis or any other reason, any other reason. The phone government will pay your full salary for four to six months, so we're going to compensate business to pay you to do we're gonna, compensate you directly for not doing work. Does what is what happens businesses will presumably they go bankrupt. And then they were exists to continue paying you the massive amount of money for healthcare everybody's on board, with that that was in the republican bill in the first place, and then he says
money that goes to big industries has to go to workers, we're going to man of the airlines. You can't lay off a single worker. You can cut the benefits. You can cut the salary you can't get any of this for any worker at all. Ok! Well. What about the fact that when businesses come out, the other side like are the restrictions on the so yeah you're bailing out the gaunt link Is that forever? How exactly that going to work? If you're, an airline company and you're gonna be destroyed for the next two years, because you are, I mean people just not gonna fly in with their flying before for two years now count lay off anybody. Like you, so you want both ways: what for unemployment for six months and if you're gonna give alone and everybody has to be kept employed forever? We cannot make solid business decisions on the basis of the possibility. Of a future environment can't furlough anybody, you just have to keep in current cost. The reality is, if you're trying to shore up your companies that it is still working at a certain point. You're going to need to do actually have some flexibility in how you run your business. Go, get some more of the demo
the plans and how this whole thing fell apart yesterday will do that in just one second. First if you haven't, had a chance to see some of our contents called all access like you should head over to daily wired outcome and check it out. Germany boring and I kicked off late last week, I early last week, all of you hosty bloodstreams over a daily wired outcome will continue all this week at eight p m Eastern five Pm Pacific Alexis lives. More relaxed and are normal programming its lesson, wisdom burning using information more than just hanging out with you, because I am we're all together alone, so miserable Now, together, I'm planning on being there this afternoon family issue on Fridays, who can do it on Friday, but God everything's, ok, five p m today. I should be here hanging out with you. Five pm Pacific tonight join us on all access live over a daily wire dotcom. We remain the largest fastest going Conseil, replied Custom Radio show in the nation. Yeah. Ok, so, as I say, the trucks humor plan basically involves unending amounts of money to people who are unemployed which, really again,
it should last as long as locked him when the lockdown ends, everybody needs to go back to work and sent devising people not to go back to work would be the problem and if you think, these programmes are not can be permanent wrong. Forty six months of unemployment insurance is gonna democratic. Nor can it stick to forty six months. Unemployment entrance to the fall out from this thing is gonna be broader than that, and instead of incentivize unpeopled get back in the workforce. They're going to incentivize people not to be back in the workforce, it's one thing to compensate people for the forced government shot down. It is another thing to pay people beyond the forced government shut down to stay out of work. They say that they want not only paid we but paid family leave for months at a time that they want to forgive student loans at what the hell does. Any of this have to do with. Actually up the economy at this point that the Democrats apparently have significant. Formations about helping american business, this distinguished to probe business for them? That's the big problem: Mcconnell last night. He slammed Nancy Blowsy for holding up. They show these animal where did the rest, and we had a deal here in the nasty plus you decide, walk back for political reasons, has Mcconnell.
We have a high level of bi partisanship in five different working groups, Over the last forty eight hours, where members who are participating were reaching agreement. And then all of a sudden, the endemic. Later and this bigger our shows up and we're back to square one. So we're fiddling here Fiddling with the emotions of the american people, filling where the markets fiddling with our healthcare. The american people expect, to act or moral network that is all true and that's where the markets painted the open air down again significantly at open down like eighteen. Thousands. The market is down that about forty percent, from its from ties of just one month ago.
Which is totally insane, never seen anything like it before. Meanwhile, again, what? What exactly? Where the democratic objections here, they're big objection, one that they are talking about supposedly, is that the there's a big slush fund that is going to be handed out to states and localities in businesses when by the Treasury. Secretary and they're. Talking point is the trumpets, gonna bail out his own businesses or get a couple of good things about that one. If he does like exclusively a lot is on businesses. He's not gonna win reelection Raymond that that's perfectly obvious right. If the president does do that, if he were like giving a disproportionate share of the bail out Turning to his own business has not always you're, not gonna, win reelection, he probably and violence be in violation of the emoluments, was to travel this is very large. It has many many employees. Is it the idea, because from name is on the organisation of those people deserve to be unemployed because of a vast government shutdown trumpet get the same sort of consideration from hotels
sort of consideration as Marianne Hotels. By the way Mary, I just followed something like two thirds of its employees. The fertile includes two thirds of its four thousand employees headquarters in two thirds of their one hundred and seventy four thousand employees around the world and Democrats are holding this thing up. Now, if you ever want to see something incredible that media by us, the evolving european headline on this thing is just unbelievable. Senor times had several headlines on this thing, it started off with eight with. Accurate, have one then quickly move to not accurate, had wanted to Democrats block action on one point: trillion dollar stimulus within a few minutes. They had changed the headline the Sunday evening. Agent the headline to democratic block action on stimulus plan seeking worker protection Another headline is justifying all this, because otherwise the workers would not be protected, and then there is a third headline and then it said partisan divide, threatens deal on rescue bills are now wasn't even democrats blocking it, it was just a people can come to an agreement, is the other than your times. Just a mean that
the evolution of journalism in real time, pretty amazing, so again what exactly where they upset about according to the New York Times, which of course is not biased in any way at all, Democrats risk the political backlash with their scene. Obstructing progress. They argued the boat on said. It was premature, given the remaining reservations about the measures negotiations. Continued Mcconnell wanted to another voted. Nine forty five a m on Monday morning, fifteen minutes after markets open to demonstrated Democrats that their vote to actually manner to markets, Democrats instead pushed back, noone at the earliest on Monday. The mood on Capitol Hill was grim doubt futures fell immediately upon news that this thing started to fall apart. Democrats denounced the packages of corporate, give away that favour big business over workers and failed twins. The build our companies would not enriched themselves after receiving government aid serving to micromanage. These company they have now shut down? There are particularly in
the inclusion of a provision that would give the Federal Reserve Access to four hundred twenty five billion dollars. That could be leverage for loans to broad groups of flailing companies, weaving Congo little or no say in which businesses could receive assistance or how We use the one now micromanage all these businesses there looking to leverage their way into businesses that were profitable until five minutes ago, when the government forcibly shut down all these businesses all across the kind and they're, saying the business heads. Don't gotta run their businesses anymore. We know how to run their businesses anymore. So, instead of just floating loan from the government right now, we wouldn't use that to keep our people employed. Instead, we just sort of pocket the cash for no apparent reason. You dont underway A loan from the government right now? We wouldn't use that to keep our people employed. Instead, we just sort of pocket the cash for no apparent reason. You don't we stand how businesses work you really don't, because in order for us to, be operational on the other side of this we have to maintain as much of our core employee base, as humanly possible. Employers are finally deciding who to hire and fire on the basis of efficiencies, Kate and fact, is that
when we come out the other side of this people going to need those employers there will be a hiring boom on the other side of this when the market recovers, but saying to company the organ of micromanage them and you're gonna dictate that they can You too, have a certain number of employees, for example like who the hell is trucks, humour to tell us when exactly how many employees actually paying to stay there, there should unemployment insurance that should be extended for people who are laid off, but also Companies need to continue to exist because they continue to exist. Here are not mutually exclusive. If the companies dont continue to exist, none of this is gonna matter and by the way, five seconds after this thing ends. The companies are going to have to fire a bunch of people because guess what? What's? The federal government float you alone, and so you have to keep eighty percent of your work force, employed, break etiquette or you gotta keep a hundred percent your work force employed or we are not going to give you the money. What do you think happens on the other side of this? when we come out of lockdown and the market is still not there, because gonna take a little while for the market to recover all those people laid off anyway, so what What are you talking about, and the business
can I take a major head. Businesses know how best to run their businesses and, yes, we should be tiding people over you. We should be ensuring that their furlough rather than fire. Yes, we should be ensured but the small businesses continue to exist, but then the I dont want. Publican bill. But I, like the democratic proposals, even less unending employment, unemployment, insurance no loans to got a basically cut down of loans, said trucks humor, side, which businesses ought to get the loans, and they can control exactly how these businesses run pretty pretty wild stuffing does smack of a political agenda and that becomes permanent of Democrats think that they get to run the run all these business from the top down, because the government declared shut down. All these businesses in the first place is the greatest seizure of private property in the history of the United States. It that's the case if what you have here, I mean other than slavery, obviously, then I will mean the end of labour, emulate the seizure of private property, meaning like you're on your own labour. If somebody enslaves you, then obviously that's a seizure of you and your property. Ok, but
than the evil enslavement of human beings is the greatest destruction private property in the history of the United States. If Europe, talking about shutting down vast wads of companies and they saying that that, in return for the loan, we now get to run your company basically forever without an end point, because the Democrats are not proposing any end point here democratic, their concern about how the government would go about bailing out distress. Companies complaining the measured, give too much discretion to maneuver and to decide who receive funds would allow much time before you have to disclose the recipients, because the measure gives the Treasury secretary six months to reveal all of this stuff the draft bill would provide a total of five hundred billion dollars and laws and other support for distress, cities, states in industries, including fifty billion for syndrome, airlines, eight billion dollars for cargo carriers. Again, I don't love any of this, but it's not exactly a bail out when your forcing these things to shut down in the first place. Under the Republicans rapped on the federal government, would be allowed to take stock shares or other equity in any business that accepts loans under the programme the Provision Administration Ministerial floated publicly owning unlike gap provision, but with that said
Shutting this thing down over democratic priorities at this point is, is pretty astonishing. At the last minute oak, time for a quick thing that I like and then a quick thing that I hate so things that I like today, I so I've been sitting home with goods, and that means that has time to catch up on them. These, because let me just tell you when you're a six year old, let me have a three year old. You can do as much from school as possible and then everybody needs a break. So there's a fun movie that get tons of attention when it came out, but it is kind of a kick called spies in disguise, with a Will Smith and Tom HOLLAND. The basic premise the film is is incredibly silly and also of I wish them will Smith is a secret agent, Tom HOLLAND, a sort of the queue character, except that the queue character only makes very very odd devices that are served directed at Non violence and its in about thirty minutes into the film
the few character in order to allow Will Smith to hide from the authorities transforms, will Psmith into a pigeon, as there is a pigeon for like half the film and them the movie is actually quite funny. An inquiry and quite charm, spies in disguise is loaded. The trailer imagine you disappear A last look at me: look at you, I guess my but your face at the same time, that is so cool pigeon can make you an even better spy everywhere. Nobody noticed them to see if I didn't see it pigeon and guess it is actually very funny huh
and if he is good, kids movie is its worthy of checking out robot scary Ferber, like the very very young crowd, but if there over, like seven, maybe over six hours should lessen three or I'm irresponsible, but let's be real, Rollin quarantine. So it's I make my Daughter did she thought, was hilarious, she's little mature for her age in terms of what she watches? However, ok time for a quick thing that I hate already self Celebrities are really bored, and I think that what did this quarantine has shown more than anything else. Would they, but this whole locked? In addition, more than anything else, is it celebrities desire attention more than anything in the world is whether releasing videos of themselves singing imagine and why there on Instagram, talking about how life is really difficult: there, palatial estates and everything was in celebrities. We dont care that here. Thing. That's libraries that many of them don't really understand. We dont care that much about you when you're not reading a line. We are not really line you're, just not all that interesting. What makes you and me
these lines. Reading you're good at acting right of offscreen when I'm not too in politics my life is fairly boring. I think most celebrities, and understand, since they think they have very important things to say even their own bizarre things. So Madonna in a video that you cannot unseen did a video yesterday from her bathtub about how corona virus is the greatest equalizer in the world? She said from her bathtub that has rose, pedals in it, just like everybody else, he's like normal right like. I know that that when I get my EL the bath, I have rose petals in their because, like that's, the way I I run here is is Madonna explaining all of us about the equality of corona virus from her superbly multi million dollar estates in a bathtub filled with rose petals like any normal human being covered. Nineteen doesn't care about.
How it shiver famous. You are how funny you are how smart you are where you live how old. You are amazing stories in town, it's great equalizer pan over there's some random dude playing the piano in your bathroom washes naked, nor bathtub filled with rose bells. Ok celebrities, they need our attention, don't give it. Then I just defeated my own rule. Giving attention to Madame whose so desperate for attention. Also, yes, that's true of cover. Nineteen, it's also just called death like death. Death generally tends to be a pretty rate, equalizer yeah yeah. So I think that maybe it's time to dump our celebrity culture
